Board Profiles

The current Board of Directors for MCFS are:

Arthur Maddison,  Non-Executive Director, Chairman

Arthur is a successful retail business owner, now retired, who has rejoined the Board.  He was on the Company steering committee in 2001 and 2002 which established the Company to enter into Bendigo Bank franchise and raise the required capital by prospectus offer.  Arthur has been living in the Mundaring community for many years and has extensive interests in the region, with a commitment to community effort, sport and recreation.

Gerard Tonks, CA,  Non-Executive Director: Company Secretary

Gerard has been the Company Secretary since January 2002.  He is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Secretary who has been in both public practice and commerce and now specialises in corporate administration.  Gerard currently lectures in finance and accounting in the university sector as well as being an active member of the Hills Symphony Orchestra.

Ron Shannon, Non-Executive Director

Ron has joined the board as a non-executive director, having previously been a director of the company.  Ron is a software engineer working on a part time basis for Swan TAFE and has interests in permaculture, sustainable living and new ideas.  Ron brings a wealth of corporate experience to the board, particularly in strategic development.

Andrew Wells

Andrew joined the board in January 2010, he is an electrical fitter by trade but retired from the role in 1989 after 21 years with West Australian Newspapers. Andrew co-owned and managed the Glen Forrest Shopping Centre from 1975 to 2005. He has extensive interests in the community, including the Avon Valley Vintage Vehicle Association, the Austin Seven Club, the Council of Motoring Clubs (State body) and the Veteran Car Club, and Mundaring Historical Society.

Peter Hackett

Peter joined the board in January 2010, he is a semi-retired electronics technician and worked for Marconi Space and Defence Systems in the UK before emigrating to Australia in 1981, where he worked at Western Mining Corporation in Kalgoorlie and then El Caballo in Wooroloo. He has been self employed since 1991, and his business employs two staff working in the communications and electronics field.

Paige McNeil

Paige joined the board in January 2010, she is a Corporate Governance Professional with twelve years experience in business administration and seven years in Education and Training. Paige manages a private company operating to support the mineral exploration industry and she is the Company Secretary and Administration Manager of Frontier Resources Ltd, an ASX listed company. Paige holds tertiary qualifications in Corporate Governance, Education and Training and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Chartered Secretaries Australia.

Robert Emery

Robert joined the board in January 2010, he started out as a commissioned officer in the Royal Navy in the UK, Robert has gained extensive experience in senior management roles across Western Australia, primarily in mining in the Pilbara where he was the General Manager of the Port of Dampier and then the General Manager of Dampier Salt Pty Ltd. More recently he was the Manager of the Port of Albany until he retired and took a more leisurely approach to work and focused on consulting in his area of expertise. Robert holds tertiary qualifications in Logistics and has professional (fellow) membership of several Professional Associations in Shipping, Logistics and International Development. Robert was an elected councilor on the Shire of Mundaring from 1987 – 1991 and an elected Councilor on the City of Albany from 2000 to 2007.

Dr Richard Stuart

Richard joined the board in January 2010, he was born in the UK and spent part of his childhood in India, and was educated at the University of London, graduating with a Bachelor and PhD degree in engineering. He has worked extensively across the world in the oil and gas industries, emigrating to Australian in 1993 and now lives in Glen Forrest. Richard has quality auditing qualifications for the oil and gas industry, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers (Australia).

James Saunders, CA

James joined the board in January 2010, with extensive experience in corporate accounting services, James has worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and RSM Bird Cameron, in Victoria and Western Australia. He specialized in company advisory services, including restructuring, valuations and corporate accounting. James was responsible for the Community Bank® businesses with RSM Bird Cameron at their Perth office. James is on the steering committee for the Goldfields-Esperance Community Bank®.
